Though I'm new to home-roasting, Mandehling has always been one of my favorite full-bodied coffees. The deep earthy flavor with slightly brighter fruit tones is excellent for a relaxing afternoon cup. I've found it best to "cure" this one for 2-3 days after roasting; I'm by no means an expert, but I feel more of the bright and flavorful overtones come through that way for a more balanced taste.

My wife loved it. I am not a big Sumatra fan. I will say the beans looked good though and they roast well. I will be purchasing this again in the future for the wife. Sorry I didnt give it a better review...I just am no fan of Sumatra and my wife doesn't do reviews.

This was my first time roasting and I bought these beans along with the sample pack. These are great beans. I roast these are am getting better at roasting everyday. I have found that after roasting these and leaving them in a dark place for a couple days they taste better. I also bought the sample pack and am looking forward to trying those beans as well.

I bought a sample size of this to see how it tastes. I roasted it on SR540 - first time, it came out so well - perfect coffee for me - dark, tasted fine - no bitterness etc - loved it - earmarked this as my #1 coffee bean for a long time. Second time brewing, same bean, same roaster, same settings came out very under-roasted - no idea what happened (I am new to roasting - still same qty, settings can't have such a vast quality difference), 3rd time, I did the roast with much longer time and came out ok....This is certainly a great bean....If there are any roasting experts here, pl guide me. My settings are mostly 0-3.30 - F6P9; 3.30 - 5.00 - F6P8; 5-6.30 - F6P7; 6.30-7.30 - F6P6; 7.30 onwards cool down. I did hear two stages of cracks - first one at around 4 minute and second at around 6.30 mts....

Purchased before, I really like Sumatran...it always reminds me of how coffee should taste...no favoring.....just coffee.

I haven't had the greatest of luck roasting Sumatra beans. These are good, but I think I need some additional practice. I've tried other lower grade Sumatran beans with less luck. Grade 1 has provided the best results for me.

I had for years been buying coffee beans from another distributor and now for the past couple years the beans they have sent me were either very low grade grade or a mix. Only because I have been roasting for years can I detect that. Anyway the beans from Coffee Corral have been spot on. After roasting my beans Specially the Sumatran beans I let the rest in a cool mainly dark area for three days minimum then grind and brew. Good beans Coffee Corral. Really appreciate it.

I’ve had this as city + and full city + and it’s great at both levels of roast, either as pour over or French press. Full bodied, chocolate, almost sweet, low acidity, no harshness whatsoever. Very little chaff too, but it does tend to stick to the bean. Great coffee.

We had never roasted coffee at home prior to buying your coffee. The first batch we did not roast long enough, but the second batch came out great. Watching the beans brown and the oils come out was almost as fun as the the taste of the 1st cup of rich flavorful coffee. We will surely be a repeT customer.

I have to rate these beans 3-Stars only because I haven't found the right roasting profile. I'm sure if I could get that down they would be fabulous. This particular bean ( for me anyway ) seems to reach 1C very quickly and then takes quite a while to hit 2C and I believe the 'stall' is what is wrecking my roast. The service from the Corral is always excellent, and I will continue to buy beans of various varieties from the Corral.
