Intensely fruity but varied, Congolese green coffee beans have attained a certain air of mystique due to their difficulty to source and import. The Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) has been wracked with a series of civil wars that make coffee production extremely difficult. In the past few years, however, agencies and international NGOs have provided needed infrastructure and security to allow Congolese coffee to reach a wider audience.
