Description

Haitian Zombie was roasted and sent in by our trader and scored 92 in Coffee Review!

This Haitian Coffee is grown in a town called Zombie Desert, and it has one of the only model farms in the area. This cooperative, being smaller is size, is able to produce 600 bags of coffee and pay growers significant prices for their coffee cherries. This coffee is Shade Grown which is a rarity in Haiti to have that kind of forest cover. The cooperative is paid roughly 300% higher wages than the Fair Trade minimum, not out of charity, but for having an exceptional product. It is grown by a Coop in the Central Plateau region consisting of 75 farmers where the average size of a farm is 1 hector.

Cupping notes: Clean smooth body. Low in acidity, and sweet undertones. Floral aromas.

Roasted to City, very smooth, noticed earthy tones with hints of the floral.

Just tried the Haitian Savanne Zombie and ..wow. This coffee is absolutely delicious. It has a sweet creaminess, with a nice body and smooth, floral aftertaste. Tasted very little acidity. Very nice bean.

This is a solid 5/5 for me. Big fan of the low acid profile. Very smooth, easy to drink but now without character. Makes for a wonderful first cup of the day for both pour over and aeropress and it will become a regular in my house. Extremely pleased with this purchase.

With the final season of 'The Walking Dead' beginning this Sunday, what better coffee to roast up! This Haitaian, like the other two I've had, is extremely smooth, with a wonderful, buttery mouthfeel. The Zombie tastes almost like a happy medium between the other two. While the Blue Organic had a nutty, more-balanced flavor, the Marre Blanc had a more chocolatey taste. The Zombie is slightly nutty, with just a hint of chocolate on the back end. I roasted the Zombie to about City+, but think I'll try it just a tad darker next time to see where it goes. All three Haitians are delicious, and will be regulars in the rotation.

Looking for low acid coffee, this was a top choice. I roasted it hot and fast, right to the beginning of second crack and dumped it. My low acid customers said it didn't give them any heartburn, and "it was incredible". Thanks for the sample CBC! Will be stocking up soon.

I definitely am a zombie. I am not so sure if I enjoy being a zombie, but I do enjoy Zombie coffee.

Love it! I've never had Haitian coffee before. Roasted 10 seconds into FC. It's syrupy, smooth and slightly bitter but in a good way, maybe a better description would be like dark chocolate with that wonderful aftertaste that lingers. Not quite a strong as Puerto Rican, a little more acidic. I did a pourover using a Kalita 155 Wave Dripper 15:1 ratio. Highly Recommended.
